Kevin trained with Beale & Co, qualifying in 2021 with the Contracts and Projects Advisory team in London. He assists on non-contentious/project work and pre-disputes advisory work relating to construction, engineering and infrastructure matters in the UK and internationally.
Kevin has experience in working for developers, funders, equipment providers, mining companies, contractors, engineers, architects, and other consultants and service providers. In particular, he has assisted with advising on building contracts, professional appointments, and other ancillary project documents. This experience includes advising on industry standard forms including JCT, NEC, RIBA and CIC as well as bespoke agreements. As part of his training contract, Kevin was seconded to the in-house legal team of an international and multidisciplinary engineering and consultancy firm to assist with the projects work.
During the training contract, Kevin also gained experience in representing construction professionals and their insurers in disputes, including advising on coverage issues. This experience has carried over into his role in the Contracts and Projects Advisory team, where he has assisted in advising construction professionals on their professional indemnity insurance policies and their contractual insurance requirements under their project documents.
Prior to commencing his training contract, Kevin was a paralegal with the firm.
Kevin is also a member of the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce.
